Chris Gwilliam graduated from Bath University with a RIBA Part 1 degree in architecture RIBA Part 1 in 2001. He went on to work as an architectural designer for several large firms of architects before taking a job as a land buyer and project manager for a London based property development firm. After being made redundant in the financial crash of 2008, he set up his own successful London based architecture and planning consultancy firm working for developers and private self builder clients. After building the company up to employ 15 staff and completing several large projects, he sold the business in 2019 to another firm of architects. He used the funds from the company sale to set up as a property developer in his own right and has since sourced and acquired land, obtained planning permission, built out and sold many residential development projects around South East England.
